Solving Bite Disorders With Dental Technology

Howard County dentist Dr. Ray Becker has recently published a chapter in the “Handbook of Research on Computerized Occlusal Analysis Technology Applications in Dental Medicine”, by Robert B. Keratin, D.M.D.

Dr. Becker is both nationally and internationally recognized as a pioneer in the field of bite disorder treatment, including the incorporation of unique dental technology that can provide accurate, detailed information about the imbalances that may be present in a patient’s bite. An International Certifying and Interpretation Instructor of the Total BioPAK System, Dr. Becker both utilizes and teaches this digital based technology, which offers a non invasive diagnostic tool for evaluating the bite.

What is The Total BioPAK System?

Total BioPak combined with T-Scan® III technology enables Dr. Becker to move beyond traditional diagnostic methods using carbon paper and generates a digital readout of the many forces affecting the teeth and joint muscles. The two complementary technologies, known as Joint Vibration Analysis, can provide a holistic digital picture of how all parts of a patient’s bite are interacting. An imbalance within this delicate framework can often lead to dental health problems that affect daily life: headaches, ear and neck pain, difficulty chewing to name a few.

Dr. Becker Can Help You With Your Bite Disorder

Dr. Becker is one of few area dentists using this type of dental technology as part of the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ and related bite disorders. He is helping patients restore their dental health and reclaim their quality of life. Addressing underlying functional problems will enable future dentistry to provide successful results that are not only comfortable, but lasting. Patients with an undiagnosed and untreated bite disorder may often find that any cosmetic and restorative dentistry breaks down over time as old symptoms return and additional damage occurs.

Suffering with a bite that feels “off”, or symptoms such as recurring headaches, jaw popping and clicking and facial pain? Dr. Becker can analyze your bite during a preventive care visit and recommend appropriate treatment for addressing the imbalance and bringing back your natural, comfortable smile.
