Jillynda is Howard County Smiles’ Operations Manager. Her background includes extensive experience in the medical and dental fields. She’s also a retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard, in which she served for 24 years. It’s not surprising that she excels at keeping a tight ship in our office. She is well adept at managing a fast-paced, multi-faceted, growing practice such as Howard County Smiles.

You’ll often find her all throughout the office interacting with our patients and their families, ensuring they are completely taken care of for the ultimate patient experience. Her friendly, compassionate, and caring nature allows her the unique opportunity to provide an upbeat and thriving culture for our team and patients.

When she is not supporting our team in our practice, you’ll often find her enjoying nature. She loves to go hiking and kayaking while capturing nature through the lens of her camera. If she isn’t out enjoying nature, she’s often going for long drives and exploring antique shops. Her current obsession is Etsy! She was blessed with three beautiful daughters and a fur puppy!

Patient Advocate

Amanda is Howard County Smiles’ Patient Advocate. She found a need to advocate for our patients through their journey in our office and so created this role to better help our patients reach their smile goals. Her favorite part of her role is being able to educate patients about their dental needs. She loves to assist patients with reaching their smile goals by listening intently to their needs and wants.

After your initial appointment with our practice, you’ll have dedicated one-on-one time with Amanda to discuss your smile needs/concerns and create a customized plan to make that smile dreams a reality! Following her patients throughout their journey with Howard County Smiles is just as important to her. You can call her your personal smile coach and cheerleader, always rooting you on as your treatment progresses and always here to remind you of how far you’ve come already in your smile journey!

Outside of making her patient’s goals a reality, she loves spending quality time with her family, beau, and of course her kitty cats. In her free time, you’ll catch her helping others with their health and fitness goals, extending her advocating skills to her personal life as well. Her favorite time of year is Fall and Halloween is the most important holiday to her. You’ll always catch her smiling in the office and may even hear her bust out a tune from time to time.

Insurance Coordinator

Cathy is Howard County Smiles’ Insurance Coordinator (guru)! Her sole mission is to help patients maximize their insurance benefits so they can receive the care they deserve. With 12 years of experience, Cathy is here to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding your insurance. She’s one of the first faces you’ll see entering our practice and always greets you with a smile.

She’ll help you in understanding your insurance benefits and how to utilize them for your dental needs. Besides her role in our practice, Cathy is a Pasadena native who now resides in Millersville with her family. She loves spending quality time with her family, which includes a husband, daughter, three stepdaughters, and five grandchildren. While she may have her hands full with her family, she is always looking for the next adventure to experience with them.

Lead Hygienist

Ann is the lead dental hygienist at Howard County Smiles. With Ann’s extensive dental background, she’s able to extend that knowledge to her hygiene team to better assist our patients. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene. She is also a graduate of York College with a bachelor’s degree in Public relations. She lives in Baltimore County with her husband and (very spoiled) dog.

When she isn’t helping people improve their oral health, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing football. Ann knew she had found the perfect office for her when she saw how Howard County Smiles takes care of their patients. Ann loves to help people on their path to healthy smiles by creating a home care oral care regime designed to work for each patient’s lifestyle. A smile is often the first impression a person makes, let Ann help you in crafting the best smile for you.

Valerie is a hygienist at Howard County Smiles. She graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene from Community College of Baltimore County. To further her education, she plans to return for a degree in Public Health to better assist her patients with their oral hygiene care. Valerie understands that patients see her with an array of oral hygiene goals and works with each individual patient to create a specific oral care regime to fit their lifestyle.

She is all about educating patients on how to enhance their care needs at home, recognizing that a patient with a strong at-home regime will have an everlasting smile. In her free time, you can find her spending time with her family and the newest member of the family, her nephew! She loves the outdoors, so as a Maryland native and enthusiast, you’ll often find her near the water or mountains, exploring the big outdoors. She’s a bit of a bookworm but also loves a good Netflix movie too.

Jacinda is the Lead Dental Assistant at Howard County Smiles. She has a diverse background in the health field ranging from studies in nursing, childcare experience, and 17 years in assisted living. Jacinda is able to apply her skills gained through her very eclectic background to her role in our practice, providing assistance to our clinical team on how to better serve our patients and their dental needs.

In addition to her roles here, she’s also a Maryland resident. Born and raised in the state, she has in-depth knowledge of the state’s outdoors and is often out exploring with her husband, whether it be hiking, kayaking, or running 5ks. She also shares her spare time as a mom to her fur babies and enjoys expressing her creativity through baking, decorating cakes, and even crocheting.

Dental Assistant

Kate is a Dental Assistant at Howard County Smiles. She has a very extensive background in Customer Service, but the dental field was calling to her. She was provided the unique opportunity to join our team and knew this was the practice she had in mind when looking into joining the field.

With her background skills, she’s able to implement them into her role here and make sure each and every patient’s needs are met while in our office. She loves nothing more than to spend quality time with her family when not assisting patients in the office. Kate’s husband is on active duty in the Army, so you’ll find her connecting with our military families often. She also has a son and a Border Collie named Rowan.

Dental Assistant/Lab Technician

LeAnne is a Dental Assistant and Lab technician at Howard County Smiles. She had the perfect opportunity to join our team and get a head start in the dental field while she continues her pre-dental track at UMBC. She loves learning all about the latest technologies in dentistry and how to better treat our patients with them.

You’ll often find her in our lab working her magic from custom-made appliances to 3D printing our very own clear aligners for orthodontic treatments. While helping out in our office, she also runs track and cross country in school. She currently resides in Baltimore, where she recently moved all the way from Gettysburg, PA. Whiles she’s not putting her dental talents to use, she’s out exploring new restaurants, discovering new music, and living up that active lifestyle with new hiking spots.
